April 2008
After 6 years of service, our bassist Dan Wilkinson is moving on. Dan is now a fulltime Nasty Rabbit and will be gigging all over the place tickling your ears with that groovy Rabbits racket.
It's hard to put down in words how much Dan's musicianship and dedication has meant to Paul and me. It's even harder to convey (unless you know him) how absolutely decent of a fellow Dan is. As proud as I have been to share a stage with Mr. Wilkinson over the last 6 years, I am most proud of the fact I can call him my friend. Here to you Dan!!!!!
When it was time to find another bassman there was only one guy we wanted... the luminescent Mr Nevil Kiddier. Nev is a legendary figure around these parts and we are tickled pink to have him as the new Mother. Some of you might remember him from the great band Glyder or as a member of the hit makers The Pinkees. Some of you might even have seen him on one of his numerous appearances on TOTP (for real!). Well he's now holding down the bass end for us and we couldn't be happier to have him.
And as if that isn't enough.. we will soon be joined by a full-time steel guitarist.. the wonderful Allan Kelly! How cool is that!?!??!
see ya soon

January 2008
Happy new year!
On on January 21st, after months of baiting your collective breath, our new album
Set The Stupid Free comes out. We are giddy with excitement, anticipation, anxiety, as well as well as thirteen or fourteen other emotions we don't quite understand. It's been a long process getting the album to your ears but we think it's pretty groovy and these
reviews seem to agree.
Set The Stupid Free is available to pre-order at all of the usual suspects
(Amazon,
HMV,
Virgin,
Play.com, etc) but we would encourage you to think about buying from an independant shop first. In the UK you can show support fior the "little guy" by buying the disc from
Spin Cds. Back in the USA you can proudly fly your freak flag by dropping some cash at the ever tasteful
Kool Kat Musik or
Not Lame. Those of you in the rest of the world can purchase the disc from our friends
CD Baby who will ship just about anywhere.
We have a couple of very special gigs this month to launch this album. The first is on
January 23rd at the
12 Bar Club in London. Joining us onstage for this gig will be guest Mother BJ Cole on steel guitar who will replicate his bits from the cd . Support will come from the splendid David Lewis and the mucho talented Rosie Wilby. The cost will be £6 at the door and yes, there will be plenty of copies of
Set The Stupid Free on sale so save your pennies.
We will be returning on January 30th to the magnificent
What's Cookin' showcase held at the
Sheepwalk in in Leytonstone. It's always a treat to play this cool night and thanks to Stephen and Ali for all of their work keeping the Country flame burining in North London. It's free admission to What's Cookin' so all the pennies you save can be spent on beer.
hope to see ya soon
